How many times has it happened that while in the middle of a situation, you’ve suddenly realized that this (or a similar) event has already happened before? Or maybe sometimes you instinctively know what is going to happen next!
We’ve all heard, known or experienced instances of Déjà Vu and Alter Vu at least once in our lives leaving us a little heady for a moment or two. Well, maybe it isn’t just an illusion and you’re withdrawing this experience from an alternative reality or a parallel universe! However bizarre the interpretation of quantum mechanics or the theory of many-worlds may sound, there have been notable amount of instances that strongly advocate the relevance of multiverse.
This Halloween, let’s get spooked by this list that makes the possibility of a separate reality co-existing with our own seem quite legitimate.
THE STORY OF LERINA GARCIA
Imagine you go to sleep on your bed and then get up the next morning in an alien world. That is what Lerina Garcia’s story is all about! In 2008, this 41 year old lady opened her eyes in Spain one fine morning only to find herself to be in a different dimension altogether.
Nothing, neither her bed, her clothes nor the workplace was recognizable to her. Stranger than that, the man she was dating since the past four months was nowhere to be found all of a sudden. Seeking help from anyone who could, this is what she later wrote on the internet : “what upsets me is that I’m in the same year, not in a different time, and I’m exactly the same. Let me explain: it’s as though I had lost my memory five months ago and woke up having dreamed those five months, with the exception that everyone remembers me during that time, and I’ve done things that I’m not aware of having done.” Though Lerina’s state looks more like a neurological malfunction, she claims to have come from a parallel universe and is stuck in ours.
THE MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY
This, by far, has been one of the most enigmatic instances in history which remains to be unresolved and unanswered since it occurred in 1954. It was a very normal day at the Haneda Airport until the securities witnessed a man with a passport from a country named ‘Taured’. His primary language was French yet could speak Japanese fluently.
He held a passport that had been stamped by many countries earlier which looked authentic and he could also point his country on the world map (where the Principality of Andorra exists). Amazed at the whole scenario, the custom officials detained him in a hotel and kept guards at the entrance only to find the man vanished from the room the next morning. Nobody since then has ever been able to trace his or Taured’s whereabouts till date.
VICTOR GODDARD’S TIME SLIP
This instance goes back to 1935 when the Air Marshall, Sir Victor Goddard was flying to Edinburgh from Andover when he passes across an abandoned field in Scotland however, he met a storm while coming back and what he noticed after the gale settled is interesting!
He could see the same abandoned field in Scotland though not so stranded this time. He saw mechanics clad in blue uniforms working and four yellow RAF airplanes on the runway. Before he could pay more attention to this strange sight, the storm returned leaving Sir Goddard battling his way to home. Though a little perturbed and surprised at what he had witnessed, Victor Goddard considered it best to keep this incident to himself lest he be considered a lunatic. However, what makes this whole incident so fascinating is the fact that what Victor Goddard had seen in 1935 actually came to be true in 1939! The abandoned field at Scotland was very much functional by then, the RAF had started painting their planes in yellow and the mechanics were instructed to wear blue overalls.
THE DIMENSIONAL DOOR OF MARCAHUASI FOREST
The Marcahuasi Stone Forest in Peru is home to many granite formations that are in the shape of humans, animals and religious symbols. Nobody is sure how these shapes have been formed on these rocks. What’s peculiar is the theory of this forest having an interdimensional gate that takes you to a different era. According to Daniel Ruzo, the person who first investigated in this matter, a patient came to him with the problem of hemiplegia (a disorder that paralyses half side of the body) and told about her weird experience while on her camp at the Marcauhsi Forest.
According to the patient, she along with her friends were exploring the forest at night when they witnessed a group of people merrymaking, clad in the 17th century attire. She felt an outwardly pull however, was stopped back by a friend and therefore couldn’t fully enter leaving the part that had been dragged inside to be paralyzed. It is believed that the woman experienced a dimensional shift causing changes in her nervous system. Had the woman been pulled completely, she would’ve never been found again.
THE THEORY OF QUANTUM-MECHANISM
To many, the theory of Quantum-Mechanism is merely a branch of Physics however, its new theory propagates the existence of a parallel universe. Physicists reinforce the idea that many interacting worlds is a possibility.
One interpretation of quantum mechanics is that all the other arrangements of probabilities could exist in their own separate universe. Some physicists also believe that once a particle’s position is measured, the many other positions it could take according to its wave function split off and create a separate, parallel world, having marginal differences.
